Clean sweep for 'Rowdy'

Season's end sees Island Maritime's loyal client 'Rowdy' at the top of her game once again. Having won the only race sailed during The Monaco Classic Week, she went on to the Regates Royales in Cannes with some unfinished business to attend to. And that she did, winning her class and adding yet another prestigious regatta to her already immpressive list of wins. St. Tropez was a cliffhanger as although 'Rowdy' was well placed to win her class, the coveted Rolex Trophy was up for grabs. She rose to the occasion and won the trophy for the second year in a row. 'Rowdy' has now won every major classic regatta in the Mediterranean in the last two seasons. Quite a feat!

One could be forgiven for asking............Well, what now?

Island maritime is presently in discussion with 'Rowdy's' owner about the 2010 season and you can be sure we have something up our sleeve!

Rowdy continues winning streak

At the end of the 2007 season, Rowdy's owner again placed his faith in Island Maritime's expertise and undertook a complete re-engining of the boat to original Herreshoff plans from 1933. The hull was also splined and faired and the sail plan optimised. Rowdy proved to be unbeatable in 2008 with 22 straight wins before having a second place. She won five classic regattas outright and is the 2008 Panerai and Rolex champion. Now after another winter of fine tuning by Island Maritime, Rowdy has once again shown that she is a force to be reckoned with, winning regattas at Antibes and Marseille, and just recently the prestigious 700 mile Trophee Bailli de Suffren. Rowdy will take part in the Monaco Classic week, Regates Royales, Cannes and Les Voiles de St. Tropez at the end of the season. We wish her continuing success

Island Maritime gets 'Rowdy'!!

Equipped last year with a full set of Lewmar bronze winches and other hardware supplied and installed by Island Maritime, the 20m classic Herreshoff yacht 'Rowdy' aquitted herself well on the Mediteranean regatta circuit with a creditable third overall. Island Martime managed the build of a new mast, boom and sails,  Now, after four months of design, modification and optimisation, 'Rowdy' is soon to be sailing again in preparation for the coming 2008 regatta season .

Arklow Windfarm Painting Works

Island Maritime procures support vessels for painting works on the Arklow Bank Wind Farm during Summer 2007.

Through-out the project,  Island Maritime provided technical and management services for the two support vessels during scaffolding and painting works.
